Dr. Mary Watson
Mary D. Watson is a native of Hollywood, South Carolina (Charleston County.) She received her undergraduate degree from Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia, Master’s in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University, and Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership from Argosy University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Watson is a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Dr.Watson is a retired Assistant Principal from Dekalb County and currently serves as Principal and Teacher of Learning Expectations & Academic Performance Academy. She is married to John Watson and has two sons, one daughter, and four grandchildren.
Dr. Watson has enjoyed over 25 years serving in various teaching and leadership positions. The positions held during this time includes: Children’s Ministry Coordinator, Assistant Principal, After School Program Director, Teacher, Supplemental Education Services Site Coordinator, and Teacher Support Specialist.
Her passion is to provide a positive learning environment where students feel safe, enjoy learning; can relate their learning to real-life experiences, and where parents and the community feel welcome.
Her objective is to serve a community where all stakeholders are involved in providing a learning environment most beneficial for all students.
